How we Roll

Departure routine for Meg, as we travel:

  • Coffee
  • Prepare me
  • Start the generator (onboard, used to power everything and maintain a bank of 6 batteries)
  • Disengage leveling jacks
  • Fill fresh water tank
  • Disengage power line (shoreline)
  • Drain the black and gray water tanks (poop & shower water)
  • Disconnect fresh water hose
  • Pack everything away and lock up all the storage compartments
  • Bring in the slide-outs
  • Position me and lock me in
  • Position the RV or truck for flattow
    • Connect the truck to the RV, check break lights, and place the truck in neutral
  • Put the RV in drive and pull out!

At first, it took a good hour or so to accomplish the tasks above. Meg has it down to about 30 minutes. She can actually disconnect or set up in about 10-15 minutes if that’s all she’s doing.

Yes, you should be impressed. Why? Because Meg has always been very foofoo (is that a word). This is a major shift for her. I so appreciate that she does this for us. My Captain Intrepid!
